Please help fund the repairs needed to restore running water to my Mom
and Dad’s home. My parents, Phil and Margie McFarland, recently lost the
water supply to their home as well as their septic system when the
crumbling, leaking underground pipes finally gave way completely.
Anytime they need to use any water or plumbing, they have to go across
the street to my grandma’s.
Mom and Dad have always been willing
to give to others, and now they need some help themselves. Mom has
spent the last fifteen years taking care of other people, beginning with
caring daily for my Dad’s father who was bedridden for five years
before his death in 2005, then for Dad’s brother, also bedridden for
years until he died in 2011, then for her own dad, who became bedridden
last year after a stoke. Despite her own serious medical problems,
including the loss of her left arm 25 years ago followed by years of
recurrent infections and ongoing complications, Mom still freely gives
her time and energy to helping look after my grandma, watching my kids
when I can’t, and taking care of my Dad. Dad finally had to retire about
five years ago after his third heart attack and being diagnosed with
diabetes.
My parents have modest resources and no debt, but they
don’t have the funds needed to fix the underground pipes from their
house to the well or the septic system. They tried several times to get a
loan for the cost of these repairs, but were turned down for lack of
credit history. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
